At Education CHANCES, we celebrate and recognise young people who have significant promise. We provide eligible young people, aged 12-18 with annual scholarships to directly contribute towards supporting them to achieve their learning goals and to succeed at school. Education CHANCES strongly believes in promoting hope and belief and whilst life's circumstances can be challenging at times, financial barriers should not be a reason why success does not flourish in talented young people in Boroondara.
For 2026, we have awarded 109 scholarships to extremely promising young people in our partnering secondary schools across Boroondara and close surrounds. In the last ten years, we have raised $2,682,327 to directly support young people to achieve. An independent ThinkImpact evaluation conducted in 2023, remarkably found that for every dollar invested in our program, up to $19* of social and economic value was created. This is an incredibly powerful return on investment.
What this means is every $1 you give creates up to $19* worth of benefit for Boroondara, through better education, stronger families, and young people who go on to contribute to our community for decades.
